Weird name, great work
Behind all the lines of code and search engine metrics, everything we do starts with inspiration. Sometimes we find it in conventional places like market research reports or walks around the block. Other times, it comes from some not-so-expected places. Our name is very much the latter.
There’s no cheeky web joke or bizarre nature metaphor. It’s not a play on some obscure character from a piece of literature no one has ever heard of. Baal and Spots were simply the names of our founder’s cats.
But that’s just the short version of the story...
