As a local boutique furniture maker, Living Designs Furniture allows its customers to design and create handmade furniture customized to fit their personal style.
Having committed their upcoming media spend to television ads airing during the 2021 Olympics, Living Designs Furniture connected with Baal & Spots to help them launch a new website that would suit their new brand marketing and help inspire in-store traffic.
In just six weeks, the Baal & Spots team was able to create a micro-website that would entice customers to engage further with the Living Designs Furniture brand and, more importantly, to visit their Downtown Houston showroom.
Baal & Spots has managed Living Design Furniture’s digital marketing efforts since the launch of the website, providing services including content marketing and SEO strategy, Google My Business management, digital ad creation and management, social media creation and management, and even brand work and messaging — to help them bring the people of Houston elevated furniture for their everyday lives.
The challenge
As Living Designs Furniture expanded both its business and its brand, it was clear that the current site, which lacked ecommerce capabilities, did not offer the user experience that the modern shopper has come to expect. The communication of the shopping experience was unclear, the brand messaging was indistinct and misaligned, and the site needed to be rebuilt to convert online sales.
Living Designs Furniture entrusted Baal & Spots to craft and refine their brand voice, display their unique identity and products, help potential customers understand their value, and optimize the website for converting customers.
The results
In just a six-week time frame Baal & Spots was able to deliver these results: after the launch of the new website in 2021, Living Designs Furniture saw a 124% increase in sales in just one month. Six months after launching the website, Living Designs Furniture had seen a 38% increase in total traffic, a 32% increase in organic traffic, and a 211% increase in referral traffic, making it easier for visitors to find them online, see their value, and convert into customers.
Additionally, from January 2023 – 2024 on Google My Business we saw a 198% increase in Get Direction clicks, a 150% increase in website clicks, and a 148% increase in profile interactions.
How we did it
1. A website designed to inform and inspire
We knew that Living Designs Furniture were going to receive a lot of exposure from their Olympic investment, but that they lacked a suitable platform to direct interested viewers looking to buy.
Their sales funnel lacked infrastructure, and with a focus on in-store shopping in an increasingly online world, we knew that we needed to create a website that made their value proposition clear — and that’s what we did. We built website that would show off their customization capabilities, inform viewers about what makes their furniture special, and direct visitors to the showroom using an easy and interactive website experience.
2. Clear and meaningful messaging
We led Living Designs Furniture through a brand messaging exercise which would allow them to better define and align their overall brand, and help them to better communicate what makes them so valuable.
We worked closely with their leadership team to explore taglines, value propositions, and positioning statements that more effectively communicate their unique approach to locally manufacturing and selling high-quality furniture at factory-direct prices.
3. Ongoing SEO content strategy to maintain and improve organic ranking
We’ve also helped Living Designs Furniture drive traffic and improve visibility using both organic and paid social media, search engine marketing, and content-led search engine optimization to attract in-market clients to their business.
